Climate IT
In November 2021, the Communication Department will launch the theme Climate IT; a series of stories focusing on climate-related research at ITU.

Currently, there is strong national and international political hope that new and existing technologies can be used to tackle the climate emergencies. At the same time - and perhaps consequently - many public and private funding programmes are increasingly geared towards green transition and sustainability initiatives. This development impacts the activities at ITU where a Climate Strategy is under development. The strategy is expected to be launched in 2022.

The Climate IT theme is meant to inspire researchers, stakeholders, and citizens to create, support and participate in green sustainability initiatives. What qualifies technologies as sustainable? How do we ensure that we are addressing the climate crisis most effectively? How can technologies be used to measure the impact of green initiatives? These are the types of issues we want to shine a light on with the Climate IT theme. The majority of the stories are intended for publication on itu.dk and social media where they will be branded with a visual identity and under the thematic title, Climate IT. Others will appear in external media.

If you have ideas for climate related ITU stories, please contact Research Communication Officer, Jari Kickbusch.
